You'll wonder how you've gotten this far in life without these..

They have become more an extension of our very being rather than a gadget or tool and like it or not, mobile apps add extra convenience to almost every aspect of our day-to-day lives, so here are some of my favorites focused on college life....

1) Dublin Bus

Unless you're Daddy is filthy rich or you're a mature student coming back to reeducate then chances are you will be forced to grab public transport at some point in you're student life if not regularly. If so, this app will prove more than essential with full timetables and real time info to let you know where exactly is that bus and why is it 50 minutes late its my first day.

2Nun Gun
You've been asked to sit down for a brief introduction on everything college has to offer. Time to download the risque game involving highly trained lethal nuns hell bent on saving the world from Zombies. Perfect time passing entertainment.

3) Uncrate

At some time or another you will have to have a meaningful conversation. If you want to keep up with latest in whats cool, check this out. Full of tech, style and mind blowing gadgets (albeit way out of you're price range) these luxury accessories may be extra motivation to land that dream job in the future.

4)  Bleacher report

This ones more for the guys, you will not find a more in-depth sports app on the market. Covering every genre with live updates on stories, facts, scores and more it customizes itself based on sport, team and player preferences and should be considered an imperative part of a male college life.

                                              5) Publin

So you're a fresher in you're first week of college and you gathered a clan of new disoriented friends dazzled by college life and it's endless possibilities. First port of call? Hit the pub. You will find no finer venue to get to know everyone better and to enjoy a rich ale with accompanying fine ambiance.

Problem? There's over 1,100 pubs to choose from in the fair city. That is where Publin comes into play, with a full price list covering most pubs in town (you can go straight to cheapest) ,extra features like suggested pub crawls and special deals. It'll even tell you where to get a gluten free pint.

With this app you can pass yourself off as a connoisseur of beers and ales and be sure you're new-found mates will be none the wiser.

6) 8Tracks

No music taste? no problem. This handy app will give you a simple 8 track playlist based on previous song listens and searched tags. There's even mood -based playlists including chill, study, up-tempo or hipster. So why wait, start broadening you're musical horizons now and hit all those gigs you're wallet will allow.

7) InForFree

So you've hit the pub, you've started an intellectually stimulating conversation on you're tailored music taste and such. Now you've decided to hit the tiles and who could blame you. Unfortunately you've arrived at the door only to come to the door only to realize that it is a tenner in and you're a scruffy student living off pocket money.

Not to worry, with InForFree you can not only check the events on in you're area but also get yourself in free of charge. This app requires you to log into Facebook and may spam you into oblivion with event invites but that is the price you pay for getting past the doorman!

8) GuinessPlus

So there you are, inside the club and high on life. Now to get a pint, but wait, you're still broke. Time to whip out the phone and get yourself one free Guinness! Savour it because the app is now worthless.

9) Snapchat

Fast forward to the next day and you're feeling a little under the weather. With one eye on the clock you decide to pull some funny faces and make this early lecture a little more enjoyable. Don't worry, everybody is doing it.

10) Tinder

Oh yeah, last but not least on the list we have Tinder. Online dating has hit the mainstream and whether just for fun or you're actively searching for dates well here's you're first step.

Think about it, 20 years from now it'll just be a fun 'how we met' story for the kids.

So now you're pretty much set right ? Whats that ? You don't have a smartphone? Oh well em .. scroll on I guess...
